One of a series of caches along the cycleway between Ashhurst and Palmerston North.
The total length of the cycleway is 11 km, but so far only a 3 km stretch has been completed.
The rest will happen as funding and access issues are sorted out, within the next year or ten.
Difficulty and Terrain are specified for each individual cache, distance to its nearest roadend.
The cycle track as a whole is Terrain 3.
The caches along this trail vary.
Some are easy, some... not so much. Some have codes... collect them. You might need them later?

What's in a name?
The "burnt" object that this cache was named for was a very large tree trunk in the paddock behind you that was still smouldering at the time of placing the cache.
This has since been removed from the field, so the container's host has been representatively charred in keeping with the theme.
