Geocache Description:

Manlius, Otisco, Cicero, DeWitt. Ever stop to question how these well known areas of Onondaga County received their names? When I was a kid my father answered all my questions about the source geographic names with "from the Indians". While all of this land was once part of the great Iroquois confederacy, the majority of the names we know today are clearly not just Native American based

This puzzle will require you to learn the history around the 19 towns (towns, NOT villages and cities) that make up Onondaga County. Many of these towns were originally laid out as part of the Military Tract of 1790, which set aside lands as rewards for soldiers who served during the Revolutionary war. Onondaga County was officially established in 1794, in much larger form than it it today. The original towns of the county were expanded, contracted and realigned several times over the next 40-50 years into the present boundaries we know today

The coordinates posted are bogus. To solve you will need to substitute answers to the questions below

N 42 5A.BCD W 076 0E.FGH

A = There is one town curiously named after a Kentucky statesman. How many letters in his last name?

B = The number of towns named for Americans the number of tribes in the Iroquois Confederacy (post 1722)

C = The number of towns in Onondaga county named for the same person

D =  The number of towns with names derived from Native American sources + the number of towns with names derived from Latin sources

E =  The number of towns in the county named after ROMAN historical figures

F =  There is one town named in honor of a Revolutionary War officer known as "The Hero of Two Worlds". How many letters in the name of the town?

G = Last number in the year that the town of Cicero was split from the town of Lysander

H = The total number of towns that were named for (past) Vice Presidents and (future) Presidents of the United States
