Geocache Description:

Welcome to Lewis and Clark State Historic Site,
While you are here enjoy the many exhibitions, several pavilions and much more. Special thanks go out to The Army Corp of Engineers for allowing us to place these caches on their land.

If you look south west you can see the Sign at north end of Chouteau Island were the Chain of Rocks canal starts. The canal and locks allow river traffic to bypass a portion of the river that is unnavigable in low water due to an exposure of bedrock in the river—a "chain of rocks".

To the north you can see the confluence of the Missouri River in the Mississippi River.

Sit back and watch the river roll by.

Parking on the levee road is not permitted, you will be towed. Some of the corps land is open to hunters, take care during hunting season.
Permission granted to place these caches by Roxane Krutsinger and Christopher Garcia of the US Army Corps of Engineers. If you have any problems with this cache please contact the cache owner and not the US Army Corps of Engineers.
