Geocache Description:

This is a seed cache from Pomological Passion - The Seeds, GC29ZVH.

It's located in the Phinney Ridge P-Patch, one of Seattle's P-Patch community gardens.

The slope was so steep we almost rolled off the hill. "So that's what a 30% grade looks like." We were standing on the top of Phinney Ridge looking toward the Sound as Eldon and Claire talked of their dream of turning this derelict street right-of-way into the Hanging Gardens of Phinney Ridge. Their dream took our breathes away and made us think of mountain goats.

The garden was dedicated in August, 1991 as the Phinney Ridge P-Patch, but it is affectionately known as Billy Goat's Bluff because of the goat manure and the fact that only mountain goats could garden on such a steep slope.

From Wikipedia: A P-Patch is a parcel of property used for gardening allotments; the term is specific to Seattle, Washington. The "P" originally stood for "Picardo", after the family who owned Picardo Farm in Seattle's Wedgwood neighborhood, part of which became the original P-Patch.[1] (A folk etymolog yattributes it to "pea patch".)

Please feel free to enjoy the park and gardens, but please don't walk on the gardens or pick anything. This is a quiet park, in a quiet neighborhood, and usually relatively muggle free. The cache you are looking for is a soda bottle preform. Please take care to replace the cache as found to protect it from muggles' eyes.

Make sure to spend some time enjoying the wonderful view of the Olympic mountains - there's a place to sit about 2/3 way up the hill if you want to spend some time in the park
