Geocache Description:

"Medic Sixty One, Code Three... Bravo Nineteen...."

Colorado Springs Fire Dept. and most public safety services in the city use a mapbook that divides the city into 432 "Map Pages", 1 square mile each.  These map pages work like so: The city is divided into twelve 6-mile by 6-mile sections.  Each of these 6 square mile areas is given a letter designation (A=Alpha, B=bravo, C=Charlie, etc).  Then, each of these 6-mile sections is further divided into 36 1-mile by 1-mile squares, each given a number designation.  Using a combination of these letters and numbers, we cover 432 square miles of the city and outlying areas, with each square mile having a unique indicator or page number.  When a dispatcher gives a first responder an address, they will include this map page so the responder knows the relative area of the address.

This series of Geocaches will be placed in as many of these Map pages as possible.  Understand that there is no way to get a cache into all 432 pages, as some of the pages are on airport property, or the AFA, or already saturated with caches, etc.   Each cache will be named for it's map page the same way you would overhear it on a scanner.  Enjoy!
