The Tree Amigos Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

svosen: Decided to let this one go. It had a great run, but circumstances beyond my control got the best of it...

There's a new one on the way, though, to replace it :)

Geocache Description:

The Tree Amigos is an offset (multi) cache, with a small-sized container. Similar to our first hide, the intent is to offer something our kiddos would love to find. The coordinates are supposed to be accurate (although the location offered a little challenge there), and it shouldn't take too long to find.

This cache is placed with permission of a downtown business, but the building occupants don't know about it (so don't bother going inside to ask). The site is home to a professional office (M-F, 8-5), so it may be best to go after this one on evenings or weekends, to avoid muggle encounters. We tried to incorporate a few elements that our kids love.

To that end, you'll need to get some information at the starting location which will be needed at the cache site. So head on over to the starting location (N 47˚ 30.470; W 111˚ 18.109) and look for the feature with numerals all over the face of it. You'll want to use your scribblin' stick to record the number at the lower left and the number at the upper right – you should end up with a sequence of 4 digits. Go ahead and drop off any over due items before you leave.

Now you're ready to head over to the hide site (N 47˚ 30.204; W 111˚ 18.181). The name alone should take you to GZ, at which point it shouldn't be too much of a challenge to find the hide. Use the code you found at the starting location, and you're in! Please be careful to replace everything as you found it, taking care to not leave anything dangling beneath. And please, please, please: do NOT use a bolt cutter on this and wreck it for others!

This was initially a “Large” container, but we got all the contents to fit inside the new “Small” container (barely). If you trade, please let us know what you took/left; my kids would be thrilled to read about it! Would love to have travel bugs pass through, as well.

FTF prize: a 10oz beer glass commemorating the 75th anniversary of the company who owns the site. Congrats to Washmount for FTF.
