Geocache Description:

This cache is located within sight of one of the old electric power stations for the Milwaukee Railroad that used to run right by here. The tracks are still shown on my GPS map but they are long gone. This was an electric rail route and as such there had to be power stations all along the route. The most famous train that ran by here was the Olympian Hiawatha.

I love anything to do with railroads and so this old power station is fascinating to me. We live very close nearby and drive by here every time I go anywhere by car (as opposed to by horseback). Here is a link to more information on the Milwaukee Railroad and the Hiawatha.

Our local MOOG group (Missoula Organization Of Geocachers) will again be biking the “ Route of the Hiawatha Bike Trail” this September 7th. It is listed as an “event cache” - “Hiawatha the fifth” (GC4FG5J) - please consider joining us! This is the fifth time the MOOG group has done this bike ride. Ron Martino was the originator and organizer in the past and now that he has passed away we are doing it in his honor.

The geocache is a Bison Capsule and it is out of sight. It should be out of mind but I guess it isn't or you would not go looking for it! Maybe you can put it out of mind after you find it.
