Izgradnjom sveučilišnoga kampusa iz temelja se mijenja slika Sveučilišta te snažno unaprjeđuje sveučilišna nastava, znanstvena infrastruktura i sveukupni uvjeti života i rada studenata. Izgradnja kampusa izuzetno potiče istraživački i društveni mikrookoliš interdisciplinarnosti u istraživačkome radu, kreiranje interdisciplinarnih studijskih programa te prijenos stvorenih znanja u tehnološke inovacije i oplemenjivanje društva u cjelini. Njime se značajno unapređuje standard studiranja, uvjeti za znanstveni rad, te informacijski sustav kojim će Sveučilište biti integrirano i spojeno s drugim centrima u svijetu.

The development of the University of Rijeka Campus drastically changes the image of the University along with playing a major role in the advancement of university classes, the scientific infrastructure and the all-around student living and working conditions. A research and social micro-environment will be created on Campus with the purpose of facilitating interdisciplinarity in research work, creating interdisciplinary study programmes, transferring acquired knowledge into technological innovations along with enriching social practices. The standard of studying is to be greatly improved, as are conditions for research work. One of the main objectives is building a contemporary IT system by which the University will be integrated and connected to other world centres. The student living standard will also improve significantly.
