What A Sap! Traditional Cache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

RedHiker: Hi, DragonsWest

Please read this entire message to keep your cache from being archived. Action is required on your part.

I see that your cache may need some attention. Although it may be missing or damaged, enough time has passed since it was successfully located that you should visit it. I'm going to disable it to remove it from the list of active caches.

As the cache owner of a disabled geocache, there are three options available for you:

  1. Visit your cache, verify any issues with it, then fix and enable your cache within the next 30 days. so that it can move out of this state of limbo.

  2. After visiting your cache, if you are not able to fix it in the next 30 days, then please create a new log note on your cache page letting the reviewer know you are aware that your cache needs attention and how/when you plan to take care of it. The reviewer will monitor and reply to these notes.

  3. You can archive your cache, remove your container, and clean up the area as needed.

Please note that Geocaching HQ has put greater emphasis on "refreshing the gameboard," which means that the volunteer Reviewers will be more actively following up to make sure caches are maintained or archiving them as needed to free up space for new caches to replace any old ones that were not being properly maintained.

If you take none of the actions listed above as the cache owner, this geocache will be archived by a volunteer reviewer.

Please note that geocaches that are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance are not eligible to be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

Pining For A Cache - Dept

Near the corner of 2nd Avenue and 5th Street, this cache is not located in New York City, though it sure sounds like a New York City location.

Perfect for shorter cachers, crumb crunchers and rug rats, just don't stick your hand down the squirrel hole nearby. I do not hide caches in animal burrows out of courtesy to the critters, oh and cachers as well.

The cache is hidden low and danger of accumulating sap is now greatly reduced.

  Sticky fingers,
Sticky Clothes,
A sticky digit
Up your nose.

Please bring your own scribbling tool.

Jan 14, 2019 update - the tree, which was fully alive upon cache placement has given up the ghost and is considerably less sappy these days.

September 3, 2020 update - tree is gone.
