Operation Cross-Tie Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ninja Reviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to Spartanburg, otherwise known as the "Hub-City!"

These caches are DAYLIGHT ONLY!

As you stroll through downtown Spartanburg, you may want to visit the historic train depot. From the bright red caboose to the weekly farmers market. You will find something for all ages…and maybe even a cool geocache with lots of goodies.

There is no need to cross over the fence!

The Spartanburg Union Station was built in 1904 to serve our growing community. By 1949, daily trains passed through Spartanburg along the Washington-to-Atlanta route. Spartanburg soon earned the nickname “Hub City.”

Now the depot represents a historical icon for our community. Visit the local train museum housed within the facility, grab a snack at the weekly Farmer’s Market, or listen for the faint train whistle in the distance.

You are looking for a small container, concealed, but yet in full view...
