Geocache Description:

It-torri l-abjad (white tower) lies at the north-est part of Malta known as l-ahrax tal-Mellieha area. It former use was that of a pill box but unfortunately now it lies in an advanced abandoned state.

Built in 1658, the sixth out of 13 built along the coast by Grandmaster De Redin to raise the alarm when necessary, and serve for the country’s defence.

It was the third to be built in Mellieha, after Ghajn Tuffieha tower and Fort St Agatha, better known as the Torri l-Ahmar. The Torri l-Abjad, which until recently was in private hands, was meant to protect Armier and l-Ahrax. It has a square shape and is made up of two rooms, one built on the other, with a small turret on the roof.

Find your way to reach the roof top of the tower ( not need to climb the metal ladder though). AT OWN RISK. DANGEROUS DWELLING, BE VERY CAUTIOUS WHERE TO STEP! Spoiler pic included. Usual red capped canister contains log sheet and pencil. Admire the awesome 360degrees views boasting over Armier, Gozo and Comino. Kindly upload photo with log
