Geocache Description:

Forge the mighty stream to catch yourself a cache. You'll fall for this hook line and sinker. Another "wacky things to do with PVC piping" cache.

It is recommended that your park at the listed parking coordinates (Rte. 15 and Compton Goble Rd). Do not block the gate. 4-wheel drive vehicles can drive down Compton Goble Rd. to trails. Trails are not marked. Care should be taken during hunting season.

In 2012 this 835 acre property, previously known as the Baker/Firestone Tract was preserved by the Trust for Public Land. The State of New Jersey was conveyed 647 acres as an addition to the Rockaway River Wildlife Management Area and 188 acres was conveyed to Jefferson Township for municiple recreation and conservation purposes. This site is located in the Highlands Preservation Area and contains environmentally sensitive wetland areas. It is the habitat for many state and federally listed species including the Bobcat, Golden-winged warbler, Timber rattlesnake, Red-shouldered hawk, Indiana bat, Cooper's hawk and Barred owl. Compton Goble Rd. is a dirt which traverses the property for two miles and provides access to numerous trails.
