Welcome to the Yukon Beringia Area. Come explore and find a geocache hiding in the very area where wooly mammoths roamed. Imagine a vast steppe covering the land for as far as the eye can see. Pretend you are an archaeologist uncovering a great find "beneath the rocks". About the Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre Welcome to the Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre. This multi-media exposition features life-size exhibits of animal of the last ice age, interactive computers kiosks, and dioramas depicting the unique landscape, flora and fauna of Beringia. Highlights of the Centre are a full-size cast of the largest woolly mammoth ever recovered in North America and a reconstruction of the Bluefish Caves, one of the New World’s premier archaeological sites. The feature exhibit is a fascinating well preserved 26,000 year old Yukon horse-complete with partial hide. View our featured films. Listen to the stories of North America’s First People whose ancestors actually lived in the ancient world of Beringia and join in our various programs. Opened since 1997, Yukon Beringia Interpretive Centre continues to share the results of current palaeontological research through its programs and exhibits. The Centre is wheelchair accessible and provides French and German translation of the exposition. Hours: May to September: 9am - 6pm daily Winter: Sunday and Monday: 12pm - 5pm (School and Tour group by appointment) Admission: Admission fee is charged.
