This bridge 11730 was built in 1962 and has an intersting sign etched into the concrete pillars.
For many years the foot./cycle path on each side was open to the traffic. It now has the closed in feeling when walking or cycling over it but it is safer. I think someone must have gone over the edge and dropped onto the road in the path of some car. To get to cache use north side walkway. It is above head height reach up.
