Another little nudge (Canterbury) Traditional Cache

Although we are reasonably keen users of the nearby bike track, it never hurts to have a little additional motivation.  This cache is intended to give you a little nudge to put the bikes on the back of the car and head out for a ride, finding the cache before or after.  The cache is in the vicinity of the car park so can be a park and grab if you don't need any exercise.

McLeans Forest is part of the Waimakariri River Regional Park. The loop track travels through pine forest over a fast smooth track with fun corners and rises. Ideal for anyone with a off road bike – it is easy riding suiting all abilities and all ages. The cache is a custom made container, and is quite fragile, so please take care removing it, and return it to the exact same spot, the same way around.  The area has changed quite a bit since this cache was placed. Originally the spot was surrounded by trees, but gale force winds knocked many of them over a couple of years back.  The cache only contains a log - please bring your own pen. The gates are open from 7am to 10pm year round.
