Geocache Description:

I have always thought cemeteries were very interesting. They give off a strange vibe, but the architectural build of older monuments mixed with the stories each grave tell, is overwhelmingly gravitational.

St. Luke's Anglican Church (Liverpool St, Scone) opened the first cemetery in Scone on site and was originally used for people of all denominations. When the plots were almost full in the late 1800s, William John Dumaresq, the owner of St Aubins (a 13,000 acre property), donated land fronting the highway just north of Scone for a Church of England (Anglican) Cemetery. Some time later he donated adjoining land for a Roman Catholic Cemetery.

This is where this cache brings you!

This cache is a small container. There is room for small swaps, just BYO pen to sign the log!

If you are interested in more information relating to this graveyard, the first details were recorded by Mrs Nancy Gray in her booklet "A Walk around the Church Yard", which was expanded by Harry Willey in "History through the Windows, Memorials and Monuments of St Luke's Anglican Church, Scone" written in 2003.
