This cache replaces General Wades Piper, who, it appears, has been uplifted and spirited away to a scrapyard before he could be rescued. RIP.
On the brighter side, General Wade was known to enjoy a bit of music and attended many concerts when home on leave, however there is no reference to his preference of genre. It is oft said here-abouts, that it was most certainly not of local origin. Wade was also a bit of a Boxer while in the army, so he would appreciate this additional reference to his future (?) idol.
This is almost the end of Wade's road for now, the modern A9 takes over for a few miles then relinquishes command at Tomatin for a short spell.
Although this is the last in the sequential series (starting at Scatraig), I hope that you did not miss out on a wonderful walk across the now varied texture route of General Wades military road.
When placing this series of caches, I took into consideration the fact that many cachers are not easily able to cover the distance in one go. So I have included the positions of a further three possible starting locations along the route. That not with-standing, a couple of the caches still require you to cross some short stretches of boggy open moorland.
Special Thanks to the Forestry commission for their permission to hide these caches
Special note: Please do not cross into areas where there are warning signs and barriers up during harvesting times.
Please ensure that you leave the cache site well disguised, this is a popular walking area.
Take great care when returning to the A9.
