Geocache Description:

Levittown Legacy #62: The Series

This series of caches is dedicated to the history of Willingboro, and especially, the legacy of the Levittown years.

I have always been fascinated by Willingboro/Levittown.  I was three when Levitt first started selling homes, and I lived in nearby Riverton.  My family came to the Plaza quite often, and I had many camp friends who lived in Willingboro in the 1960s and 1970s.  I hid a few caches in Willingboro when I started geocaching, but I thought that there was the potential for many more.  In June, I attended an author-talk at the Burlington County Library where Carol Suplee spoke about her book, Stories of Willingboro Township, NJ. She gave us so much information and it started the ball rolling for me!  I read several books, spent hundreds of hours on the internet, spoke to many individuals, and spent many hours (and lots of gas $$$) driving all over Willingboro.  I started out thinking that I would hide between 12-15 caches, and the list is now up to 62.  I may add to this series if I discover any more useful information.  Have fun with this series and enjoy the history!  Most of the hides aren't terribly hard.  Be careful of muggles and please rehide this cache as found.

Congratulations to cosmogirl for her FTF today!
