Snøhetta er landets høyeste fjell utenfor Jotunheimen, den ble lenge antatt å være Norges høyeste fjell. Fjellmassivet har 4 topper hvor den høyeste er 2286 moh og der ligger cachen plassert.
Snøhetta spiller en vesentlig rolle i nasjonalromantikkens ideologi om fjellnorge. "Enige og tro til Dovre faller", det kjente sitatet fra grunnlovens fedre på Eidsvold, vitner om dette.
Fjellet ligger i Dovre kommune og i Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella nasjonalpark. DNT-hyttene Reinheim, Snøheim og Åmotdalshytta ligger på hver sin side av fjellet.
Fjellommerådet er ellers kjent for sin stamme av moskus som det er gode muligheter for å få oppleve på denne turen.
Den enkleste ruta til toppen er fra Snøheim som er en betjent DNT hytte (WP2) For å komme hit uten å gå må man ta buss fra Hageseter eller Hjerkinhus (WP1). Fotturen blir da omlag 11km tur retur, de fleste bruker omlag 5-6 timer fra Snøheim til toppen og ned igjen.

Cachen er en standard geocaching plastboks med FTF bevis, skrivesaker, og noen bytteting. NB! Blyant kvesser er IKKE en bytte ting!
Jeg håper cachen er tilgjengelig på vinteren på den plasseringen jeg har valgt. Skulle dere komme til toppen på ski og cachen er utilgjengelig pga. is eller lignende så godkjenner jeg logger som har bilde av deg/dere på toppen. Setter ellers veldig pris på bilder fra turen i loggene. Cachen skal ikke være vanskelig å finne, her er det turen og utsikten som er målet i seg selv. Lykke til.

Snøhetta
Snøhetta is the highest mountain outside Jotunheimen, it was long believed to be the highest mountain in Norway. Mountain massif has 4 peaks where the highest is 2286 meters, this is where the cache is located. Snøhetta plays a significant role in the romantic nationalism ideology of mountain Norway. "United and faithful until Dovre falls", the famous quote from the Norwegian Constitution fathers in Eidsvold bear witness to this.
The mountain is located in the Dovre municipality and the Dovre-Sunndalsfjella National Park. DNT cabins Reinheimen, Snøheim and Åmotdalshytta is located on opposite sides of the mountain.
The mountains are also famous for their tribe of musk ox which there are great opportunity to experience on this trip.
The easiest route to the top is from Snøheim which is a staffed lodge (WP2) To get here without having to walk, you have to take a bus from Hageseter or Hjerkinhus (WP1). The walk is then approximately 11km round trip, most people use about 5-6 hours from Snøheim to the top and back down.

PS! As you go up the mountain keep in mind the impressive efforts of the participants in the Norwegian reality television show "No Limits" with Lars Monsen 2011.
The cache is a standard geocaching plastic box with FTF certificate, stationery, and some trading items NB! Pencil sharpener is NOT a swap item!
I hope the cache is available in winter at the location I have chosen. Should you get to the top on skis and the cache is unavailable because of ice, then I approve logs that has a picture of you at the top. I really appreciate pictures from the trip in general. The cache should not be hard to find, here the goal is the trip and the view. Best of luck.
