Ready Player One – Mr Thomas Mystery Cache

The Ready Player One series is a mix of geocaches through the Wellington Forest area. Many of these caches require you to relive the glory day's of 80's arcade games. 

As you find each cache be on the lookout for numbers, clues or hints that will let you put together the 6 coordinate numbers you’ll need to find the Ready Player One- Bonus Cache.. The bonus number from Mr Thomas is 1.

Parking for this cache can be found just off the main road to Wellington Dam around S33 23.511, E115 58.535 Enjoy a moderate hike to stage one of this simple 2 stage multi. Once you’ve reached GZ stop and enjoy the view, oh- and find Mr Thomas.

To find Stage 1 and Mr Thomas you’ll need to play a game with some friends of mine, their nicknames are- Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde.

• Inky is a shy chap. His alternate American name has “A” letters.
• The number of my friends that start “out of the box” = “B”

C,D,E  The last “uncorrupted” level of this classic game is “CDE”

F-    By now you’ve figured out the common name for this game (probably the north American version). However when it was first created it had a different name- similar but not quite the same. How many letters appear in the Japanese name that do not appear in the common American name for the game? Worked it out?- that’s “F”

Once you’ve found Mr Thomas you’ll find a series of numbers associated with him. Use the last 4 numbers/digits to find the cache as follows; S33 23.GHI E115 58.JKL

G- 7 – First Number

H- First Number + Last Number

I- The number of initials appearing before Mr Thomas’s surname

J- Third Number

K- Third Number + First Number

L- Mr Thomas’s first initial- what number letter is it in the alphabet? Divide that number by two to get “L” 2nd (Final Stage)
