Pheasant Pitstop Traditional Cache

Pheasant Pitstop because on the day we placed the cache there were dozens of baby pheasants everywhere. It has been placed at a picnic site a view point on the trail known as the Mordiford Loop

The cache is a small test tube cache which contains paper to log your visit and a small pencil but please have a pencil with you just in case this one is blunt.

This one has proven difficult to find in the past so we have updated its location to make it easier and less frustrating for geocachers. The cache is a small round plastic test tube about 12cm long. Taking a coordinate reading was not easy as signal strength was low and I was only using an iPhone app which claimed at the time to be accurate to within 32ft. I have however, attempted to make as accurate as I can from the map when logging the cache.

The cache is in a picnic site which is part of a public footpath and a part of the Mordiford Loop walk. The picnic site has a few picnic tables  with some stunning views over the local farm land. There is one public house in nearby Mordiford for refreshments along this walk too.

You can leave the car nearby here and the cache is less than a mile from the car park. the cache is hidden within the ground of the picnic area which can be entered via a kissing gate.
