Peatlands Country Park, on the southern shores of Lough Neagh, was established to promote and facilitate peatland awareness and issues.
Amongst the attractions in the park are a minature railway and an outdoor turbary site where you can get the feel (and smell!) of cutting turf. The park is rich in insects particularly butterflies, moths, dragonflies and damselflies. Many species of wetland and woodland birds and a few species of waterfowl nest here. Red and grey squirrels, badgers and hares are also present, while lizzards and newts can be found on open bog areas.
