Geocache Description:

Cache contains lots of swag and goodies for all ages plus  TB.

This cache is located near the location of the long gone village of Marquette located along the Illinois River. When waters are high during flooding this cache may be unattainable.  Marquette was a coal mining town between DePue and Spring Valley on the " bottom road ". Nearby is Negro creek,  name after one of the early settlers who lived to be 101. Also nearby you can see the mine dump, a reddish brown hill between the bottom road and the river. Today you can climb the " dump " and get a really nice view up and down river. Good fishing here too.
