The Old Rugged Cross is one of our favorite church songs! We hope you enjoy this cache on McCurdysville Hill! We decided to place it here while in visiting my parents for the Tough Mudder Pittsburgh. I literally ran 10.5 miles, with 15 gigantic obstacles, through more mud than I have ever seen in my life, and drove straight back and placed this cache before even washing the mud off of me! Now that is true goecaching obession at its finest! LOL I grew up out this way and absolutely LOVE it here and hope that you enjoy the drive out this way. Beep and wave at my parents at mailbox #168. My mom is the one who had the idea for this location and our 9 year old son made the container and filled it with goodies. He is excited for you to find it!
There is a gravel parking lot on your left, just before you crest the top of the hill, where you may park. The cache is just about 15 feet from there....this if you are coming from the Fairmont/Rivesville direction.
The lucky FTF will be rewarded with 2 travel bugs and a trackable Geo Coin that need help on their travels. We brought the coin...which was our first coin to find, and the motorcycle travel bug from Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base, NC and the One Eyed Willie travel bug we grabbed from a cache in Fairmont.
Good luck and Happy Caching!!!
We are honored to have KilllerBee as our FTF as we cut our geocaching teeth on some of your caches and had many sleepless nights over the ones we couldn't find! WOW you are quick! CONGRATULATIONS!!
