[ITA] La cache vi porterà ad uno degli ingressi del Bosco di Mestre [ENG] The cache will take you to one entrance of the Wood of Mestre

[ITA] Il Bosco di Mestre è un bosco urbano costituito da più aree (Bosco di Carpenedo, Bosco dell'Osellino, Bosco di Campalto ed Aree Querini, che comprendono il Bosco Ottolenghi e il Bosco di Zaher), destinate ad essere collegate tra loro attraverso corridoi verdi. ll bosco Ottolenghi si trova tra Favaro Veneto e Dese, incastrato tra la ferrovia Mestre-Trieste, il fiume Dese, l'abitato di Favaro e la via Altinia; gli accessi al bosco si trovano lungo via Forte Cosenz. Questo bosco è dedicato alla memoria di Adolfo Ottolenghi, rabbino veneziano ucciso ad Auschwitz. Per ricordarlo, in un'area umida all'interno del bosco è stata posta una targa di legno, disegnata da Guido Zordan. L'impianto boschivo stato realizzato verso la fine degli anni novanta dalla Fondazione Querini Stampalia utilizzando i fondi messi a disposizione dall'Unione Europea, che incentivava la realizzazione di boschi su terreni agricoli finanziando sia i costi di impianto e di manutenzione per i primi cinque anni, sia il mancato reddito dalle colture agricole.

La cache è di piccole dimensioni.

[ENG] The Wood of Mestre is an urban forest consists of several areas (Wood of Carpenedo, Wood of Osellino Bosco, Wood of Campalto and Querini's areas, including Ottolenghi and Zaher Woods), intended to be connected to each other through green corridors . Ottolenghi Wood is located between Favaro Veneto and Dese, wedged between the railway Mestre-Trieste, the river Dese, the village of Favaro and Altinia street; access to the forest are located along Forte Cosenz street. This forest is dedicated to the memory of Adolfo Ottolenghi, Venetian rabbi killed in Auschwitz. To remember him, in a wet area inside the wood was placed a wooden plaque, designed by Guido Zordan. The wood which was built in the late nineties by the Querini Stampalia Foundation using funds made available by the European Union, which encouraged the creation of forests on agricultural land financing both the installation and maintenance costs for the first five years and the loss of income from agricultural crops.
