Helaas voor alle Munitiekist fans is deze van een munitiekist veranderd naar een hele kleine cache. Ik heb twee pogingen ondernomen hier een grotere stash te plaatsen, maar beide hebben het niet overleefd, dus ik hoop dat het op deze manier beter gaat. Excuses, ik vind munitiekisten ook het leukst om te vinden.
Op 9 oktober 1944 landde op deze plek de 9e brigade van de Highland Light Infantery of Canada. De landingen op deze plek en bij Hoofdplaat waren onderdeel van Operatie Switchback. Bedoeld om het westerlijke deel van Zeeuws-Vlaanderen en noord-west België te bevrijden.
Operatie Switchback was zwaar en heeft veel levens geëist, maar op 3 november bij het bevrijden van Knokke en Zeebrugge, als beëindigd verklaard.
Dit is een onderdeel van een periode uit onze geschiedenis die nooit vergeten mag worden, uit respect heb ik deze cache geplaatst.
De cache weer goed verstoppen, er ligt genoeg spul om hem aan het zicht te onttrekken. Dit kan een redelijk druk bezochte plek zijn. Vooral op de warme dagen.
Let op, in dit gebied is naakt recreatie toegestaan!

Unfortunatly for all the ammunitionbox lovers out there I change this one to a very small stash. I tried it twice to place a larger stash and both times they got stolen or destroyed. I myself a a big fan of ammunitionboxes...
On October 9th 1944, the 9th Highland Light Infantery brigade of Canada landed on this spot. The landings here and at Hoofdplaat were part of Operation Switchback, meant to liberate west Zeeuws-Vlaanderen and the north-west part of Belgium.
Operation Switchback was heavy and claimed a lot of lives, but it ended on November 3th with the liberation of Knokke and Zeebrugge.
This is part of a period in our history which should not be forgotten. I placed this cache out of respect.
Please hide the cache as good as possible, there's enough stuff laying around to hide it. This spot can be rather crowded, especially on the warm days.
Beware, nude recreation is allowed in this area!
