The township of Eagan was named for Patrick Eagan, the first chairman of its town board of supervisiors. He was elected chairman six times. He staked a clain to 220 acres in section 22, near the present intersection of Pilot Knob and Westcott Roads, a portion of which is the present-day site of the Eagan Municipal Center campus."
