On 24th September 2011, around 200 people gathered at the Crooked House to discuss the possibility of staging Mega 2013 in the West Midlands. On that day, despite Deci's warnings, a committee was formed and the long slog began. Two years diwn the line the rest is history. The Mega has been and gone and the committee is being wound up. What better way to mark the conclusion of Mega 2013 than to end at the beginning and re-visit the Crooked House.
You'll beglad to know there'll be no raffle or fundraising at this event! This is a chance for the West Midlands geocaching community to come together for an afternoon and to put names to those names we see all too often on logbooks. Whether it's to discuss favourite caches, brainstorm how to solve those tricky puzzles or to swap and discover trackables, all are welcome to attend. The more the merrier.
The venue for this event is the Crooked House, Himley a few miles from Dudley town centre. For those who don't know, the Crooked house is an incredible place that is one big optical illusion. Originally a farmhouse, the building now tilts to the side thanks to subsidance that has left one side of the pub 4 feet lower than the other. Curtains fall away from windows, clocks appear to stand at impossible angles and marbles roll uphill. This has to be the only pub in the World where you can feel drunk before you've even touched any beer.
