The best way to reach the island is by driving down Holeb Road (off of route 201) and then on beach rd. There is parking near a public beach that is easy to launch off of. You will need to bring your own transportation to the island. It is easiest with a fellow cacher to deal with the boat, the surrounding waters are rocky and the island is about 1.5 miles out from the beach and it is hard to find a good place to dock. The island is made up of a few large rocks with a small clump off trees and shrubs on its center. It is a beautiful spot in the spring, summer, and fall for a picnic or bird watching.
The cache is about 50 ft away from the coordinates, sorry. It's a small, cylindrical container that is wrapped in black tape with brown, green, and purple stripes. Originally the contents were two sandwich erasers, two rubber bracelets, one toy shark, one finger puppet and a 5$ L.L.Bean gift card as a first-to-find prize. This cache also now has Alberta the moose from The Sally Mountain Cache. This is her first move and she wants to have more. She likes to be in quiet, wooded areas of Maine. Have fun Caching!
