The C2C is a popular Sustrans cycleway going from Whitehaven to Sunderland and is completed by 10 to 15,000 cyclists a year. Completed in 1994, this 140 mile crosses the Lake District and Pennines with its highest point being over 2000ft. A start route from Workington and finish at Tynemouth were also added.
There are a number of public art works on the C2C, the Lambton Worm being one of them.
