Geocache Description:

Cache # 157.

I happened to drive through Avenel one day and noticed this historic sandstone bridge.  I immediately searched on the GPS and was surprised that there was nothing here.  Today I revisited and decided that it certainly warranted a cache.

(I have since discovered that there was a cache hidden here in 2008, but that it was archived in 2010).

If you are travelling North and take the Avenel turn-off near the winery you will have a lovely scenic drive that will take you directly to the bridge.

At the starting coordinates (WP1) you will find an Information Board. -

A = Number of Letters in Ellen's maiden name?

B = Red Kelly died aged ?6

C = There were how many surviving children? (? - 3)

D = When Red died Ellen was aged (? - 1)4

At WP2 you will find another Notice Board -

E = The number of arches in this historic bridge (? + 3)

F = Ned rescued Richard Shelton ?50 metres downstream

G = This bridge replaced a wooden bridge built in 18?7

At WP3 you will find a Plaque -

H = The Plaque was erected in 197?

J = The Bridge was built in 185? (? - 7)

K = Number of Letters in Hugh's surname? (? - 6)

GZ can be found at S 36 AB.CDE E 145 FG.HJK

The cache is a small container with log and pencil but please bring your own PEN.

CONGRATULATIONS - FTF - Team Crackers!
