This cache has been placed to mark the occasion of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay which passed through Caerphilly on 26th May 2012. The cache site marks the spot where this leg of the Relay started. The torch was carried on a circular route around Caerphilly, watched by thousands of locals, and finished in Crescent Road. The end of its journey was celebrated with a mini junior olympics for kids, attended by Sir Steve Redgrave and BBC Blue Peter broadcast a show from here..
The cache itself contains only a log-book, so no room for TB's: you'll need to bring your own pen. Car-parking is available very close by, and can therefore be done as a cache and dash. Whilst here, why not admire the lovely view of the surrounding area!
