Have you ever taken a break from geocaching? Since I first started caching in 2002, I took a few breaks here and there until August 2006. That is when I found what I thought would be my last cache. I was done. I had an ammo box ready to go for my newest hide, but instead I put all my geocaching stuff in it and it disappeared into the attic for almost 7 years (2543 days to be exact).
Fast forward to July 2013, when I had a Sunday afternoon all to myself with nothing to do. Suddenly I remembered the ammo box and went to retrieve it. I pulled out my 11 year old GPS (fortunately have purchased a newer one since then) and went caching. I suddenly remembered why I first loved it so, and was amazed at how many caches there were out there now.
However, there was one cache missing, the one I had never placed 7 years ago. I decided to rectify that. I took my old ammo box and placed it along the Ernst Trail, the location of my first hide 10 years ago.
And as a special reward for the FTF, I have included an unactivated 2006 Geocoin which sat in the box seven long years waiting to join in the caching adventure. Come set it free!
Update: Congrats to cath20 for the FTF!
