Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden outside the cemetery. It is a small, Wintergreen mint container and contains a few trinkets. Please close the lid tightly and rehide well. Hope you have a small hand! You may experience a lot of signal bounce here. E-mail us if you want an extra hint, and we'll try to get right back to you. BYOP.

As always, no night caching and please respect the dead. Thanks! Wouldn't try it during the winter months.

We've upped the difficulty rating. Watch out for briars!

The Milanville Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in Wayne County, and many of my early Skinner and Calkins relatives are buried here. Unfortunately, many of the tombstones are unreadable now.

The Skinner family was instrumental in the settlement of Cushetunk, which is now part of Damascus Township. Of particular note, in the 1700's Daniel Skinner received the title of 'Lord High Admiral of the Delaware' for his successful trips down the Delaware to Philadelphia by raft. For a history of Damascus, see this site: http://waynehistorypa.org/townships/damascus.php.
