Geocache Description:

This is a quick two-part multicache in St. Michael which will take you from old to new. This cache will require you to project a waypoint on your GPSr - please be sure you know how to do that before you start!

Ground zero will put you in front of the historic St. Michael Catholic Church. The city of St. Michael is named for this church, which has stood here in the middle of town for over 120 years. Special services are still held in this building, but everything else was moved to a new building in 2004. The chimes are not original, but if you're here at the right time you're still in for a treat.

When you get to GZ, look for three numbers all in the same location. One is a single-digit number, the other two are four-digit numbers. From top to bottom, write them down in order and label them "A", "B", and "C". ("A" will be the single-digit number.) To find the final location:

DIRECTION = (B - C + 13)

DISTANCE = (A + C + 5)

Then, project a waypoint from the starting coordinates: DIRECTION degrees at DISTANCE feet.

The cache is a short drive away, but walking is always possible. As with all projection geocaches the final location might not be exact, but it will definitely get you close enough. Alternately, you can brute-force the final location using clues on this page. Thanks, have fun, and happy hunting!
