This is the first of a wedding trilogy series, placed August 2013 after originally being used as a proposal site, now placed as an open geocache for you all! The 2nd in the series (Big Day - 'The Wedding') was launched April 2014 just off the main road from Chesterfield to Matlock, and the 3rd cache (O Sole Mio - 'The Honeymoon') was launched May 2014 near Tapton Lock. Well done to Diggemup for being the first to find all of the series.
The cache is a homemade container using natural local material and placed with the permission of the park ranger and local council. It is a replacement for the original specially-made cache placed for a one-off find (and proposal!).
The container is larger on the outside than the inside (unlike the tardis!) and wedged behind similar materials at ground level, so be aware when removing it from its hiding place. There is only room inside for the log roll. Please be careful not to over-tighten the screw lid afterwards (to avoid breaking the glue bond) and place the cache back out of sight afterwards and well hidden from muggles or canine retreivers!
After signing the right log why not take a moment to say Hi to the Kissing Tree or shelter under its peaceful branches for a moment, it's the end one of the 3 big trees, furthest away from the car park and play areas.
