The cache is located on a rock outcropping above Surprise Lake. To reach it you must first figure out how you are going to get to the lake. There are many routes in and many caches in the area to guide you. I would recommend staying at least one night at Surprise Lake and hitting many of the caches in the area from here. You will follow the road up along the side of the lake to reach this and from there it is a short climb up to the cache. The cache is a plastic ammo can and if the weather gods cooperate the view is great from here.
A few words about the great outdoors. Please make sure someone knows where you are going and when to expect you home. The Alder can be thick in the area and a machette comes in handy. Please Please pack out what you bring in and the area will be enjoyable for all. I am rating this cache as a 5X5 and I think it is only advisable to do it during the snowfree months.
