The cache is placed in LOVER'S COVE. The idea of this cache is to share one of those secret little gems that only the locals in the area know about.
It is a wonderful little cove with a sandy beach and a bit of a dune for kids to run down. It has a small stream running on to it, which my kids love to dam. The nearby rocks are great for kids to explore. Grotto, the blue flag beach can be accessed easily on the beach for a walk, but only at lowish tide.
However the real attractions of the cove are that it is private and out of the wind.
The wind often blows in Hermanus on a sunny day. This cove with its cliff walls offers excellent protection from the wind allowing you to enjoy the beach even while the wind is blowing
Also, most people don't know about it, making it quiet and offering respite from madding crowds of the main beaches.
The cliffs give a bit of welcome shade on really hot days too.

Note: In high summer season there is an entrance fee to the road nearest the cache. You may want to park just before the boom and walk the extra small block.
