Geocache Description:

B.Y.O.P!! This cache has been placed for the Lower Trent Conservation event and can not be found until Saturday, October 5, 2013 after 9am. The GL Series is made up of 10 geocaches that will take you on a tour of the Goodrich-Loomis Conservation Area. All caches are generally located no more than one metre off the trail. There is poison ivy throughout the area.

They work with local communities to create a healthy, environmentally diverse watershed that improves the quality of life for residents, makes our area more appealing to visitors and new business, and helps to ensure a more vibrant regional economy. http://www.ltc.on.ca/ Here is a little information about this wonderful spot... Cold Creek crosses the property, entering at the southwest corner and winding diagonally across to the northwest corner. This amounts to almost one mile of trout stream within the Conservation Area. Cold Creek forms the southern boundary of the southern section of the property, and a tributary, Little Cold Creek (or Mill Creek), winds through the central apart of the property in a southeast direction, and enters Cold Creek just east of the property. Although the stream meanders, causing the banks to be severely undercut, the creek seldom reaches a width ofover 7.3 meters. At one time the creek was dammed to provide power for a mill that was located on the property. When the water was released and the water level lowered, small islands were formed. In 1980 a flood occurred in the area causing erosion and thus causing Cold Creek to change its appearance. In the eastern corner of the Goodrich area, the river has taken on an S shape and now requires erosion control. This control is found in the form of rip-rapping and log cribbing. Cold Creek is a high quality trout stream which supports brook trout, and brown trout populations. The creek at Goodrich-Loomis is stocked annually with speckled trout by the Napanee District of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
