Deacon and manager T.J. Coleman executed the cash deed with H.A. Sherman, president of the Bienville Parish school board, establishing the Sardis Baptist Church on April 23, 1931. Prior to this date, this structure was known as the Jackson School. This historical building is also on the Bienville Parish Tourism Trail.
