Dardara Traditional Cache

This is a nice cache in a beautiful camping ground. You can sleep near a nice small stream under the beautiful trees, or just visit and learn about the history of Dardara and the Kibbutz that was here

Some History

Between 1937 and 1938 the JNF (KKL) bought the land between Syria and Hauula lake in order to maintain control on the lake. In the Winter of 1942 the JNF offered some of the land to a group of young idealistic people who wanted to form their own Kibbutz.

The Kibbutz played an important role helping Jewish people immigrate from Sirya to Israel under the British mandate. In 1947 the Eyal group decided to make Dardara their home. But in 1948 during the Israeli Independence war the Kibbutz suffered a lot of Syrian attacks and barley survived, after the war the Eyal group (what was left of it) decided to leave this spot and settle near Kfar-Sabba. What is here today ?

Today this is a beautiful camping ground, a highly recommended place is you are looking for some place nice to put your tent and lay your head, or just have a short rest.

How to get here?

From highway 90 turn east at Mahanaim Junction onto highway 91. At Gadot Junction turn north onto highway 918, Dardara is about 4 km from Gadot Junction on the right hand side of the road. There is a brown sign from the road (918) that will point you to the camping ground or just put "חניון דרדרה" in your waze application
