Geocache Description:

Woodward Park is a 45-acre public park, botanical garden, and arboretum. There are several specialty gardens, including those featuring spring flowers, tropical plants, and cacti, the Tulsa Rose Garden, the Tulsa Garden Center, and the Tulsa Arboretum.

Please be respectful of the 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. hours.

The Linnaeus Teaching Garden is a demonstration/teaching garden in Woodward Park, staffed by well-trained volunteers who share their knowledge and love of gardening with the public. The vision began with the idea of educating homeowners about horticultural possibilities for their own backyards.

The Linnaeus Teaching Garden provides teaching to both children and adults and is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday.

What's in Bloom?

Currently, the following should be blooming in the garden:

The garden was named in honor of Carl Linnaeus, Swedish naturalist and the Father of Botany. Tulsa sculptor Rosalind Cook created a six-foot-tall, full-figure bronze statue of Carl Linnaeus.  Rosalind unveiled the statue in the garden pavilion as the finale of the dedication.

Update: On March 29, 2022, the Tulsa Garden Center board unanimously voted to remove Linnaeus from the Teaching Garden name. You can read more about it here: https://www.tulsagardencenter.org/carl-linnaeus

This cache is not inside the Linnaeus Teaching Garden, but right next to it. One of Tulsa's hidden jewels, I highly recommend a visit inside during operating hours! You are looking for a small pill bottle.
