Geocache Description:

Adjacent to a brownfield that borders a park and a major intersection.

Brownfield: A plot of land contaminated by industrial or commercial waste.

This cache is located next to a brownfield created by Rockwell Industries that had sat vacant for over two decades. It is one of many current brownfields in the City of Guelph, and we're in the progress of creating more. As you can tell, this site is in a great location- very close to downtown and adjacent to Royal City Park. However, due to chlorine contamination, there had been little progress in developing the land for residential or commercial use until the fall of 2013. To access this cache you do not have to step foot on the fenced-off grounds.
