40 years ago, this gym was a location where men played competitive Intemediate basketball league. For many years it has also been a Jr Hi boys and girls team venue; some years had 2 of each. A minor basketball group, the West End Steelers continue to use the gym for practices and games. There are also at least 2 men's groups that still rent this gym at 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
The Doug MacDonald soccer field beside the school is separate from the school organization. This cache is on the far side of the field away from the school and now across the street. Some stealth required when kids are playing and travelling to and from school. This is beside a path that cuts through the houses between George Dauphinee Ave and Connaught Ave, leading to Liverpool St. It too is busy with adults travelling trough the city.
