theridgeway: grabbed this one today (saturday 15th) - it's been out for ages, but, with 66Q now properly winding down I keep thinking that a couple of mine in the area could come out. can always resurrect this one if life permits...

Geocache Description:

Old Wonderland Road - Bring a pen! This is easily accessed by all sorts of public transit (buses 5/10/23 go right by), as well as the bicycle path along Wonderland Road.

The 'new' Wonderland Road seems to have this arbitrary bulge to the west, while a perfectly good street prefixed with 'Old' goes straight through, so what gives? The extension of Wonderland over the Thames River included the realignment and widening of Wonderland Road. The curvature was introduced in the early 80s to avoid/reduce impacts on some residential properties along Old Wonderland Road; the realignment was apparently a safer design and more acceptable to the area.
