Peace Park Puzzle #3 Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

tobe4evr1: Area has become kind of trashed up. Don't really want people digging through trash to find a cache. Pulled container and will be saying good bye to this fun puzzle.....opening up the area for a better placed cache. REI nearby after all and they need a good cache for their GPS classes.

Geocache Description:

"Believe you can and you're halfway there"
-Theodore Roosevelt

Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th President of the United States. Born October 27th, 1858 and died January 6th, 1919. Besides being POTUS he was known for many things....amongst them was being a naturalist, explorer, hunter, author, and soldier. He formed the famed Rough Riders. Coined the phrase "Square Deal" for his domestic agenda. Well known quotes, such as "Speak softly and carry a big stick". Children's beloved Teddy Bear was named for him! He was a great leader and well respected for his time and history will always hold a special place for him.

But did you realize that he was a winner of the Nobel Prize for Peace??? With a quote like ".....carry a big stick", you might not think so. But he was key for bringing the Russians and Japanese to the peace talks to negotiate an end to the "First great war of the 20th century". Making him the first sitting President to earn such an honor. Very special that we can honor this great man of history and peace in Eugene at Alton-Baker Park....where the Eugene Peace Park is located. Come visit the park and see the 24 Americans that were awarded the same honor.

"In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing." -Theodore Roosevelt
