Geocache Description:


Welcome to La Belle Cemetery as featured in The Wisconsin Road Guide to Haunted Locations. Be sure to visit a large, gorgeous statue of a young girl mourning beside a crucifix is the supposed center of this cemetery’s haunting. People claim that all of the following have happened within the cemetery:

  • Sometimes the hands of the statue will drip blood.
  • People have seen an apparition of the girl walking from the statue and drowning herself in nearby Lac La Belle.
  • People have seen the statue come to life, walk down the stone steps, and walk into Fowler Lake.
  • The statue has led to mysterious deaths, blindness, and other misfortunes.

Today, some visitors to the gravesite, leave pennies in the hands of the young woman who stands in mournful vigil.
