Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series of caches placed along the N69 Coast road between Foynes in Co.Limerick to Tarbert in Co.Kerry. It has been placed in a Coillte forest recreation area woodland just outside the town of Foynes. There is plenty of parking in the pull in area just before the entrance to the wood.

The cache is a small snap box containing log book and plenty of swag to start of with and has been placed in the wood itself, though close to the parking area, I would not give this the title of a “park & grab”, I would recommend if you can to spend a little more time here and explore the various paths and views and you can also follow a path down to the Shannon estuary where it opens up onto a stony but very nice bay.

The paths are hard compacted grave/soil and well maintained and suitable for buggies and strollers and there is also a picnic area at the beginning of the walk. Be careful of young ones as some of the side paths can lead to steep drops, so caution is advised if you have adventurous young people with you.
