Geocache Description:

The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.

PLEASE NOTE: The cache is NOT at the cemetery!

There are 12 interments at the site, ranging from 1886 to 1954, and including six Doyles, three Garys, and three Schaumleffels.

To locate the actual graveyard, face the sign and mailboxes on the south side of the road. Turn to your right, and then lightly slap yourself in the face, as you should've faced left and looked to the north. Across the field, in front of the house over there, you should be able to see a rectangular enclosure a couple of hundred feet off of Highway 21. As always, any refinements to the listed coordinates are welcomed.
