"George Bush Park is a city park in Houston, Texas in the United States. It is the sixth largest city park in the nation, covering 7,800 acres. It was previously known as Cullen-Barker Park.
The large park, located on the far west side of Houston, serves as an attraction and nature reserve for the Buffalo Bayou, a major water source in the park.Most of the attractions are located on Westheimer Parkway, a major thoroughfare in the park. The park hosts a large soccer field, a shooting range, model aircraft flying fields, and numerous pavilions, playgrounds, ponds and jogging trails.
The park has a system of jogging trails, many surrounded by swamps, forest, and bayous. Many of the trails follow the Buffalo Bayou, and biking is popular year round. The park is also a popular Geocaching destination."
Since George Bush Park is a very popular geocaching destination, I wanted to have a good travel bug and coin hotel in which visitors can rest as they make their journey. This cache is not too far from a nice grassy area, so it should not be too difficult for folks to make the walk over and trade out any bugs or coins.
Even though the cache is not in a particularly tough terrain, this is George Bush Park! You may encounter the typical critters - snakes, feral hogs, deer, coyotes, ticks, etc. and the typical fun plants - thorns, PI, etc. Finally - thanks to Kirbydox for the container - I am putting it to good use!
